Merlot pairs with 70% Dark Chocolate.
Merlot is primarily grown in Bordeaux, France and California. This grape is rich and dark however tends to have softer tannins and can easily be consumed young. While Merlot has been blended with Cabernet to compliment the qualities of both varietals in France, California often serves it as a single varietal.
Merlot tends to be softer and more supple so we have paired it with our 70% Cocoa. The result is ripe blackberry and soft creamy pudding like chocolate on the finish. This pairing leads to softer tannins that pair perfectly with this lovely Varietal.
