Winemaking:
Grapes were handpicked, and optically sorted. After a 3-day cold soak, and 20 day fermentation with extended skin contact the wine was moved into 100% French oak, 43% new oak for aging.

Tasting Notes:
This wine features black currant, confection sugar, blackberry and boysenberry reduction flavors that are tightly coiled for now, carried by well-embedded acidity and racy graphite notes. The color is deep ruby, bright, ripe berry aromas, and concludes with a long finish pumping out fruit, with extra anise and sweet tobacco elements on the finish.
