The grapes for this Pinot Noir come from the Saveria Vineyard in the southern Santa Cruz Mountains, overlooking the Bay of Monterey. This area is one of the appellation's prime cuts. The bottom consists of deep alluvial sand with calcareous marine deposits.

The vineyard is tended by Prudy Foxx, also known as "the Vine Whisperer". She has patiently and cleverly cultivated and perfected the vines over the years. Ever since one of the wines from this vineyard received high ratings, the demand for grapes from this vineyard has been very high.

The gentle slope is at an altitude of about 220 meters, not far from the town of Aptos. The morning fog lifts around noon and creates a cycle of not too warm days and cool nights. This leads to a slow ripening of the grapes and exciting, complex aromas
