Master Sommelier Peter Neptune:
"medium gold, moderate plus nose with floral notes of linden, acacia, fruit notes of melon, golden apple, peach and pear, and a hint of beeswax and roasted nuts. On the palate the wine is dry, with medium plus acidity, medium alcohol and medium plus intensity. The fruit has that peach and apple, with nice minerality and a waxy, nutty character with linden undertones. Overall impression – well balanced wine with minerality, bright acidity and an appealing beeswax palate feel."
Hidden in the hills of California's Central Coast, on a rare limestone outcropping and unobstructed from the Pacific Ocean wind, lies Stolpman Vineyard. The vineyard's southern location, located in Ballard Canyon, gives the Roussanne grapes intense solar radiation to tan the fruit their namesake "Rousse" or Rust color. A month before harvest every cluster is turned 180 degrees to facilitate an even suntan.
