FROM THE WINERY:
Fruit-forward, delivering oodles of raspberries and black cherries, tinged with hints of garrigue and black olives. It’s medium to full-bodied, supple and reasonably intense, with enough savory nuances of herb and spice to keep it interesting sip after sip.
Cépages: 70% Grenache - 30% Syrah
This north-east corner of the Minervois appellation, known as Les Causses, is slightly cooler, bringing freshness and delicate aromatics to the wines. Lo Mainatge means ‘the child’ in Occitan and refers to the three generations involved in the domaine. The grapes were hand-picked.
Both varietals were fermented in cement and stainless-steel tanks to retain the primary fruit characteristics. Maceration and fermentation took between 20 and 25 days, with two punch downs per day. The resulting wines were carefully blended, then aged in stainless-steel before bottling
