60% Cinsault, 40% Grenache
Hand-harvested from Chateau Saint-Pierre's vineyards in the hills of Provence. These happy vines enjoy a southeast exposure with two main soil types: granite and slate from the Maures massif and chalky clay of foothills of the Argens Valley. These special terroirs assist in promoting the development of aromatics and structure in the fruit. A benchmark Provencal rose composed of 60% Cinsault and 40% Grenache, this is a beautiful pale pink-salmon color and reveals an intoxicating nose of white peach, apricot, guava and blossom with a hint of spice. Dry on the palate, yet with a lush texture and terrific length, this is refreshing on its own but will complement many foods, especially Mediterranean cuisine. Serve chilled and enjoy.
About the Producer: Château Saint Pierre dates back to the eleventh century. Recent rehabilitation work in the cellar have revealed vestiges of a church dedicated to Saint Pierre that had belonged to Foulques, Lord Of Les Arcs. This property and the land around it were bequeathed to the Saint Victor Abbey in 1055. Handed down from father to son for the past four generations, Jean-Philippe Victor now manage this 55 hectares vineyards that stretch from the Argens River up to the foot of the Maures Mountains
