Castelfeder "Doss" Chardonnay 2021 Südtirol - Alto Adige - Italy

WINEMAKER'S NOTE: 

Tasting Notes: Mature fruits and exotic notes of mango and honey compliment this slightly spicy, slightly creamy, and mineral Chardonnay.

Cultivation: The name Doss refers to the hill around the wine-growing village of Kurtining. The village was often under water, so the Doss hill formed by these floods and is today the most important wine-growing area for Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Handpicked, gentle pressing.

Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel, 6 months storage on fine lees.

Aging: Aged for 4 months in stainless steel vats.

Gunther Giovanett took over the family business in 1989 after his father retired from the daily operations of the winery he founded in 1969.

Located in the center of Neumarkt, in the South Tyrol region of Italy, the Giovanett family produces a range of unique wines. Now into their third generation, Gunther and his son Ivan are gaining a better understanding of the special micro-climates that exist in the Alto-Adige and South Tyrol regions.
